CSI: Miami Scoop: Alana De La Garza Returns for the Season Premiere

David Caruso and Alana De La Garza CSI: NY won't be the only show in the hit CBS franchise to feature its protagonist's late wife in the season premiere. Alana De La Garza, who played Marisol, the wife of David Caruso's Horatio Caine on CSI: Miami, will reprise her role in Season 10, TVGuide.com has learned.Marisol, who was also the older sister of Eric Delko (Adam Rodriguez), was shot by a sniper in the show's fourth season.Exclusive: CSI: NY recruits General Hospital alum to play Mac's wifeCo-executive producer Barry O'Brien tells TVGuide.com that Marisol's return will play a part in resolving last season's cliff-hanger, in which Horatio was also shot. So, does Marisol appear in a dream? Does Horatio see her as he's going toward the light?"It is a very, very personal encounter that gives him inspiration and insight into his predicament and ultimately how that predicament is resolved," O'Brien hints. Horatio will also get closure. "He is able for the first time to deal with and perhaps process that intimate and devastating loss in his life," O'Brien says.
